Let the River carry you
I remember how I learned how to swim. My father threw me in the pool. That was it. I learned pretty quickly. I thrashed around getting nowhere until I settled down and dog paddled my way to the side.
You see, when we are born, we are tossed into the river of life. Our first reaction is to thrash about fighting our circumstances. (before you are awake) You are still being carried by the river, but you spend most of your time fighting against the river, trying to push the river.
When you let go. When you no longer try to push against the river, you begin to float with the river. (After you are awake) Have you ever been on a float trip down a river? It is a very beautiful and relaxing experience.
Let go, relax and let the river carry you to the sea.
“All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.”
